The interior design consultation is the first step to realizing your design dreams for your home. This is where we will ask you a lot of questions and you can tell us exactly what you want in your home. We will have continuous communication during the entire interior design process, but this is where it all begins, so there will be a lot to talk about. Below are some questions that are important to think about so that we can make the most out of our time together during your interior design consultation.
- What do you love or dislike about your current home? Lists can be very helpful when you are considering what you like and don’t like in your home. Be sure to think about elements of your home from big to small. For example, maybe you don’t like how many bathrooms you have or having the master bedroom on the first floor. Then, consider the smaller elements like paint color and lighting elements.
- Do you have special needs that need to be considered? Do you have elderly visitors, young children, anyone in a wheelchair, or individuals with allergies?
- What is your budget? We will be asking you about your budget. It is important to be truthful and realistic about your budget.
- Do you have any hobbies or collections you would like to include in your design? Do you play an instrument, sew/craft, collect books or cars, or have a student in the house? It is important to consider these factors during the interior design consultation so that we can plan for these special interests with designated rooms or areas, cabinetry, and storage needs.
